Finnentrop

At the confluence of the Bigge and Lenne rivers, nestled between the “Homert” and “Ebbegebirge” nature parks, lies the holiday resort of Finnentrop with its villages, some of which are over 900 years old. Three castles, numerous churches and chapels, as well as picturesque half-timbered houses, still bear witness to a vibrant history. Visitors can expect well-maintained accommodation and a wide range of leisure activities. Many attractions can be discovered, for example, on an eventful hike through the extensive woodlands, including numerous old hydroelectric power stations and mills.

Cycling on well-maintained cycle paths and former railway lines, such as the Lenneroute or the “SauerlandRadring”, is just as possible as winter sports or swimming and relaxing at the “FINTO” water park. There is also a whole range of other opportunities for sporting activities.

Finnentrop is an ideal starting point for exploring the attractions of the southern Sauerland (Biggesee, Attahöhle, Karl May Festival, Panorama Park) and the neighbouring regions of the Hochsauerland and Märkisches Sauerland. You can also reach Finnentrop by train: the station is a stop on the Hagen–Siegen–Gießen line.
