Puchenstuben is a small but charming village in the heart of the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park, situated along the Mariazellerbahn railway line. The ‘centre’ lies on a ridge between the Natters and Erlauf valleys at around 870 metres above sea level. The municipal area stretches from the far end of the Natters Valley westwards across the Treffing Valley to the Erlauf, and southwards via Brandmauer, Wastl/Wald and Gösing, also reaching the Erlauf.
In winter, we go skiing on the Turmkogel, enjoy long cross-country runs on beautiful trails and stop for refreshments at the mountain hut; in summer, we hike in the nature park to the Treffling Falls or via Wastl/Wald to Gösing.
In summer, there is an outdoor swimming pool, a small football pitch, a tennis court, an asphalt curling rink and, of course, a playground for our children.
Puchenstuben – a lovely place to relax, but also to live!
