The region Romantisches Franken includes the Frankenhöhe Nature Park, a low mountain range with a rich variety of flora through which the Altmühl and Wörnitz rivers flow. A cycle path network of over 1600 km of uniformly signposted routes invites visitors to take relaxing tours.

The past comes alive in many places. Historical festivals and famous festivals such as the Rococo Festival in Ansbach, the Kreuzgangspiele in Feuchtwangen, "Der Meistertrunk" in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and the festival at the Kinderzeche in Dinkelsbühl are an experience for visitors.
