Sarmenstorf

Sarmenstorf is situated in the saddle between the Bünz and Seetal valleys, nestled between the foothills of Lindenberg and Rietenberg in a branch of the lower Freiamt towards Lake Hallwil.

Significant finds from prehistory and early history indicate that the municipality of Sarmenstorf has been permanently settled since the Neolithic period. Several burial mounds dating from around 2200 BC were excavated in the "Zigi". In the "Murimooshau", the bathing complex belonging to a Roman villa from the first century AD was preserved.
