Parken kann man auf einem kleinen, offiziellen Parkplatz in Lessern. Von da entlang der Bahnstrecke zum Martlerlweg (Wanderweg 278). Diesem nach Pürgg folgen. Nach einem kurzen Abstecher zur Johanneskapelle geht es am Wanderweg 289 zur Himmelsleiter und weiter zum kleinen Hörndl. Optional kann man den Gipfel des Gindlhorn noch mitnehmen.
Über das Gasthaus Dachsteinblick geht es wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
Mit größeren Kindern geeignet sofern Trittsicherheit vorhanden.
