Vasön liegt im Taminatal, ca. 920 m über Meer. Es zählt knapp 100 Einwohner und wird vom öffentlichen Verkehr durch eine Buslinie ab Bad Ragaz erschlossen.
Wichtigster Wirtschaftszweig ist die Land- und Forstwirtschaft.
Vasön ist Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Bergwanderungen.
