Welcome to Ehrwald, right at the foot of the Zugspitze

In summer, Ehrwald is a true eldorado for mountain enthusiasts.
Hikes in the valley, alpine hikes in medium altitude up to high alpine tours are possible. In the climbing hall or on the numerous via ferratas, summiteers are looking for a challenge. Mountain bikers enjoy the varied landscape and explore the region's routes. Golfing with a view is the name of the game in Moos: on the 9-hole golf course, you have the Zugspitze in view everywhere.

The Tiroler Zugspitzbahn takes you up to Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. The border between Austria (Tyrol) and Germany (Bavaria) runs right along the ridge of the mountain. A breathtaking panorama of over 400 Alpine peaks, the Fascination Zugspitze adventure museum and the Panorama summit restaurant await you there. Special highlights are the fondue evenings and the sunrise rides up to the Zugspitze.

The Seebensee and Drachensee lakes, two true natural gems, are also very popular excursion destinations in Ehrwald, but can only be reached as a hike or (e-)bike tour. However, these tours can be shortened with the Ehrwalder Almbahn, which is also open in summer.

Families can look forward to several exciting vacation experiences, the digital adventure trail "the hunt for Cora" and the Zugspitzi water adventure trail! The 3D archery course also provides plenty of fun and variety on a family vacation in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.

New for summer 2026 is the Zugspitze Forest Slide Park on the Wetterstein, which takes visitors on a thrilling ride through the forest on a variety of slides.

In summer, guests in the Ehrwald-Lermoos-Biberwier valley basin can also experience a very special and magical event, the mountain bonfires at the summer solstice. These are part of the intangible UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Be enchanted by the spectacular fire motifs!
