Skijaško područje Châtel / Portes du Soleil

This winter in Châtel, skiers will test the new version of the Conche lift... a detachable 6-seater POMA chairlift. Its departure is located at the place called Le Crêt and it will transport skiers to the arrival of the Chermillon site. It replaces the 3-seater chairlift with fixed grips installed in 1981. Thus, the hourly flow of 1,350 people will increase to 2,000 people, with 47 vehicles on the cable, and up to 2,660 people with 63 vehicles at a speed of 5 metres/second. The start and finish of the installation will be landscaped to enhance the loading and unloading sites of the chairlift. The new lift will allow skiers to reach the slopes and facilities of the massif more quickly. Skiers will thus be able to easily reach the Chalet Neuf and Chermeu sectors or, quite simply, return to enjoy the Boude and Combe slopes or access the snowpark for Franco-Swiss skiing pleasure! This facility, which combines comfort, speed and safety, will offer the latest technical innovations. In addition to the significant increase in hourly output, the lift will be equipped with a locking system for the guardrail and an anti-submarining system which prevents children from sliding under the guardrail. As for the seats, they will be identical to those of the Morclan TSD with alternating black and red seats for the positioning of children. The route is evolving and, as a small curiosity and technological feat, the 8th pylon will be shared with the 3rd of the Morclan TSD, built in 2019. Thanks to this new device, the fluidity of the Super Châtel sector will be increased and greatly appreciated by skiers. In this 75th year of Tourism in Châtel, the ski area is constantly being renewed to continue to offer quality skiing and ever more efficient lifts to skiers.
