Heidi's home

In the Heidi village, visitors experience an emotional journey back in time to the Swiss mountain world of the 19th century - back to the days of Heidi. In the Heidi village above Maienfeld, visitors are immersed in the "Dörfli " from Johanna Spyri's world-famous novel. The Heidi house and the alpine hut can be experienced; you can saw, milk and touch objects. At the town hall you can discover Heidi and Peter's village school. Visitors can also experience exciting craft demonstrations.

For decades, the Heidi story has inspired children from all over the world. Despite international appearances in books, musicals, animated series and films, our Heidi has not forgotten her roots: nowhere is Heidi's world more tangible than in the village school.
